On February 25th the 2026 JUNOS Host Committee Hamilton and Tourism Hamilton announced the first of the “Forged In Music Pop Up” series. A series that hadn’t happened since 2015 when the JUNOS were last in Hamilton.
The tickets would be available for free the next day after announcement and the show would happen 4 days later at Sonic Hall in Guelph, Ontario. Each show would happen in a different central Ontario city.
I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to LØLØ before the show. Before I get into the interview I wanna mention how she had some die-hard fans at this show. Lined up at the door early, knew the songs, merch on, some girls we’re wearing matching outfits in the style of clothing she wears and after the show she stayed to take photos and sign autographs. I think every person who was at the show lined up.

But our interview happened after sound check and she mentioned how she hadn’t performed in 6 months due to a vocal injury, and prior to this show she had only started singing again 2 weeks before. The vocal injuring happened shortly after her tour with Simple Plan, even though she had been doing everything right during the tour, social exercises, proper rest, not drinking and her vocal coach said she was in the best shape of her life. One night out supporting a friend resulted in a vocal polyp. She described what happened as “I screamed when he came out on stage like he was Joe Jonas or something” She didn’t realize what exactly had happened at first.
This vocal injury actually got in the way of her writing more songs for the album. But now 6 months later she’s preparing to release it on April 17th, titled “God Forbid A Girl Spit Out Her Feelings”, a title she said came out during a conversation with her old manager about always singing about relationship, or anxiety, “what else is there?” She added. “Nothing in my life anyways”
This album title which was also had an accompanying title track on the album is coincidentally the only song on the album not about break ups, and is instead a song talking to the people she writes songs about and also the people listening to the songs.
I asked about a specific line in her song “American Zombie” where she’s singing about a boy - obviously. On the track she says “I'm a compulsive manic kinda sad boy dead beat fixer”. I asked her what advice she would girl to other girls who identified with this type.
“Go to therapy”
She explained how it’s not a great trait and you really can’t fix someone they need to wanna fix themselves. She went on to say how the second last track on the album finds some closure against this. Even tho she might not have yet, but the albums not out til April 17th so she doesn’t have to until then anyways.
Seeing as we were here for this show in anticipation of the 2026 Junos I asked her some classic Canadian questions. “I like them okay” was her answer to “Do you like ketchup chips?”, “Poutine?” was an “Okay also” but she does like Drake. When I asked her what the most Canadian thing about her was she said she used to figure skate when she was younger.
And if her next interview after mine was with Nardwuar (the human serviette) and he was looking for info on her, she said her mom was basically her “glorified diary”
(I’m using this opportunity in every interview to mention that Nardwuar is a Canadian music icon and I think he should be celebrated-included-invited to every Juno awards if he has not been already)
Following her tour & collab with Simple Plan, which she explained almost didn’t happen due to covid causing them to back out of the first tour she was suppose to open for them, a New Found Glory’s “Pop Punks Still Not Dead Tour”, which went on to still be a great tour but she joked their absence from it “left a Simple Plan sized whole in my heart” Lølø also accredits their future collab to them having her on their mind following the tour not working out, “I always say they did it cause they felt bad for me”, referring to her feature on the “I’m Just A Kid” Amazon Originals Release that happened a year later and came out in 2022.
She explained how she thinks she gets lucky with these opportunities, because a lot of
times these bands are looking for a young female who could fit as an opener, I joked for them to keep calling and she said she’d gladly be the “token young female”
I asked if there were any other dream collaboration she had, Green Day was her big one. Even tho she had met a couple of the guys from the band in the past. She described it as one of risks she took in her career, when at a party one time when she walked up to Billy and said “I know it’s LA and we’re not suppose to do this but I’m a really big fan” which later led to them being friends. And “one step closer to a tour”
She also said her only idol she was yet to meet was Hilary Duff, and she’d love to work with her.

My last question was “do you know Hamilton?” “The musical or the place” she answered and we both laughed. And I would have loved to leave it there but she said she had came to Hamilton when touring with Marianas Trench. And one time was also “near the waterfalls, the waterfall?” when visiting a friend.
I said this was the classic not from Hamilton “What is Hamilton?” answer. Hamilton has done an unreal rebrand with the whole waterfall thing. I joked that now we’re just known for the waterfalls.
The interview ended with Lolo asking if I’m from Hamilton.
